Artist Statement — Past Days
Acrylic on Canvas | 80 x 80 cm
Past Days drifts between memory and motion — a soft, sweeping expression of time passing and the delicate traces it leaves behind. With hues of pinks and greens reminiscent of spring blossoms, this piece captures the fleeting beauty of seasons both lived and longed for.
There is a tenderness to the palette, a sense of renewal touched with melancholy. Like petals caught in a breeze or light dancing on leaves, the brushwork moves with the rhythm of remembering — graceful, transient, just out of reach. The same expressive motion found throughout the series suggests how memories surface, swirl, and slowly fade, never quite settling, yet always present.
Past Days is not just a reflection on what once was, but a quiet acceptance of impermanence. It holds space for the sweetness of moments gone, for the colours that still echo in us, and for the gentle truth that nothing stays — but everything leaves its mark.
